Biography

Dr. Shambra Mulder has over 20 years of experience advocating for marginalized communities. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kentucky. She began her career as a certified School Psychologist in a Kentucky rural school district. She is currently the Chair of the School of Psychology and Associate Professor at Kentucky State University. Her research has focused on multiculturalism, youth mental health, and teachers' self-efficacy. Dr. Mulder is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is the former Deputy Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental, and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHDID). She most recently completed the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellowship in Washington, DC. She is a Licensed Psychologist and owner of a clinical practice where she primarily conducts disability evaluations.
